How to play Math Cages
- Fill an N×N grid so every row and column uses 1 to N exactly once.
- Cells are grouped into outlined cages, each with a clue like 7+, 2−, 12× or 3÷.
- The numbers in a cage must combine to its target with that operation.
- For − and ÷, cages are two cells: the bigger number goes first.
- A one-cell cage is a given: just copy the number in.
Tips
- Start with single-cell cages and two-cell × or ÷ cages; they allow few combinations.
- Use notes to track which numbers are still possible in each cell.
- A row's total is fixed (1+2+…+N), which can unlock the last cage in a line.
Features
- 120 levels: 3×3 starters, then 4×4, 5×5 and 6×6 expert grids.
- Every puzzle checked to have exactly one solution.
- Notes, undo, erase, hints and a three-lesson tutorial.
